Gusto Ko Nang Matulog
Irritable ako at pabiglabigla. Labas n nga lang ako.
….
After 2 hours ng paglalakad sa kawalan. Eto na ulit ako sa bahay. Gising pa rin. Waaaa gusto ko na matulog. Mukha nang frog ung mata ko.
Crawling Towards the Sabbath
Thank God it’s Friday!
Four 14 hour shifts down, 2 more weeks of hell to go.
I will probably be working throughout the Holy Week — while everyone else is out swimming, hiking, sleeping, or flagellating themselves.
And I am all the more adamant about keeping the Sabbath. That I can tell you.
p.s. I keep pressing Ctr-D trying to delete the lines while editing this blog entry. If you work with Eclipse, you know what this is a symptom of….

I’m blue. ‘Nuff said.
Writing is therapy, but I have to keep from saying anything horned, fanged, and tailed.

Not quite the Near Death Experience you might expect.
A week ago, while wearing my brand-spanking-new leather shoes, I made my way from the bus stop to PBCom Towers via one of the many underpasses at Ayala.
On the way up the escalator, the left foot of my brand-spanking-new pair of shoes snagged on the escalator steps. It was in real deep, and I couldn’t, for the life of me, yank it free. And I was approaching the end of the stair line.
That was my cue to panic.
My life flashed before my eyes.
This wasn’t how I wanted to end. A silly escalator accident. Just about as silly as slipping on the bathroom floor and fracturing my skull, choking on a sandwich, or peeing on a live wire.
And so I tugged, and tugged, until finally I was able to slide my brand-spanking-new shoe out of the teeth of the machine.
However, I did give the shoe a pretty nasty laceration.
So much for my brand-spanking-new pair of shoes.
…
Actually, there have been cases of foot injuries on escalators: lacerations, severed toes, and such. They usually involve soft, rubbery footwear.
So, next time I’ll make sure I step on the middle of the platform instead of the sides.
Lousy Blogger and His Pictures

Let me bore you with a few more pictures.
Still here at Cartimar, I found a gaggle of children clumping around this guy. Kuya Toto is Korean (I deduce), and feeling generous, he has taken to buying stuff for the kids around him. Which of course resulted in pandemonium, as kids of all ages, sizes, and (side)walks of life fought to claim him by the arms ( as evidenced by figure 1).
I appreciate his generosity especially since this picture was taken right around Christmas time. I just feel a little plussed about seeing kids running, screeching, and elbowing each other just to get near the guy. I also felt a tinge of shame when some of the other kids who weren’t in the play were egged on by their parents to go get a ‘gift’ from Kuya Toto. Anyway, God bless the man.

This is a picture of a cute puppy with its legs hanging out between the cage’s grills. It’s cute and sad at the same time. Cute because…it’s cute. Sad because the puppies have outgrown their cages. I feel for them, cooped up like that.
Makes you want to buy just to get them out of that sort of misery.
Oh, I have a few pictures from Manila Zoo, but I’ll save em for a later post.

This is Haije. Certified lover of animals, and proud mother to two
rat-like adorable chihuahuas, Mango and Karyssa.
(My, I hope that was at least flattering )
Here she is trying on some clothes she bought for her dogs. It’s actually a dog-tuxedo. But it fits her well too.
Emptying My Phone

Another blue funk.
Then I remembered, "Oh yeah, I started this blog as therapy."
….
I got myself a new phone. I had to. My old one - a ratty Sony Ericsson K608i - while still serviceable - was starting to be an eyesore.
I mean, I dropped the poor thing so many times that it looks like it’s been through two world wars, and a minor coup d’etat. The casing is so badly chipped that it actually looks moldy.
So I decided to give my beloved phone a 21 gun salute, and off to the sunset, my dear K608i.
Of course I backed up all my data: pictures, messages, and contacts.
I just wanted to post some of the pictures I found amusing/funny/sad/relevant/trivial.
…..

I don’t know why I even bothered with this picture. I guess I was just so outraged that I had to pay 70 pesos for old rice, an egg(a rather malnourished one), and that tiny piece of beef masquerading as beef tapa. Such a travesty. Damang dama ko na ang pagasenso….
…..

On the other hand, this is Don Henrico’s Buffalo Wings. The first time I had dinner at the place, I thought their 3-piece Buffalo wing plate wouldn’t be enough for me since I had been accustomed to having to fight tooth and nail with the KFC staff just to get me a bigger portion of wing. Turns out that at Don Henricos, the wing comes with pretty much a third of the chicken - meaning each wing was a monstrous serving even I couldn’t handle.

The best things in life are free.
While strolling at Cartimar, I saw this stray cat getting free lunch at the pet food market. And mind you, free luch was expensive Whiskas. I think the cat was a little annoyed I had drawn attention to him.
So much for stealth.
